Community Outreach provides members an opportunity to serve their community in the Pittsburgh area, and presents in a positive light the benefits and good that comes from proper project management. We draw on the experience and expertise of our chapter members to provide support to volunteer organizations through maximization of resources using project management best practices.

2012 Walk To End Alzheimer’s is a huge success

Despite a damp, chilly morning at the Pittsburgh Zoo, on Saturday October 6, 2012, sixteen Pittsburgh PMI team members gathered for the second year to participate in the Walk To End Alzheimer’s with the Chapter’s team, ‘Pittsburgh Project Management Institute.’  This year’s event was a huge success!  Through the generous donations of PMI members and their family, friends, and colleagues, the group raised $2790.00, surpassing our goal of $1500.00 and beating last year’s $1600.00!  Congratulations to the Pittsburgh PMI team and all of those who contributed for a successful event!  Our donations will support the families served by the Alzheimer’s Association. 

"Unbirthday Party"

What a great way to end a year!  At our last chapter meeting for the 2011-2012 year, we collected summer clothes and donations for needy children in Westmoreland County.  141 children benefitted from the generosity of our chapter members!

We would like to thank all of the members of the committee who made this event possible, especially Julie Inman the committee lead.
