What benefits does the Chapter offer?
• Monthly Meetings with excellent networking opportunities, a presentation on a project management topic, and either a vendor presentation/demo or an IS SIG meeting
• Monthly newsletter
• Email distribution list
• Annual training course to prepare for PMP certification exam
• 1-2 seminars each year
• Information and advice on PMP certification
• Networking
• Opportunity to participate in special forums (e.g. PMO Roundtable)
• Web site (www.PittsburghPMI.org)

 

How can I get the most benefits from the chapter?
• Volunteer for a role in the chapter! Positions can be tailored to fit your time and interests. To get involved, call VP of Membership.

 

How do I join the chapter?
• Join PMI (see website at www.pmi.org). On your PMI application indicate you want to join the Pittsburgh chapter for an additional annual fee of $20. If you have already joined PMI but did not join the Pittsburgh chapter, call PMI headquarters at 610-356-4600, Option 8 and explain that you want to join the chapter. They can take your credit card info and enroll you on-line.

 

When does the Chapter meet?
• The chapter meetings are the 2nd Thursday of each month, except July & August.
• General schedule:
5:00 – 6:00 - Networking and PM INFO Session - or - IT SIG meeting
6:00 – 7:00 – Dinner and introductions
7:00 - 8:00 - Presentation
• Typical Cost: $25 for dinner. No cost for presentation only.

 

Does the Chapter provide PMP training?
• Typically 1 session per year: Spring (mid-February-April timeframe)
• Typically 5 Saturdays 8:00 – 5:00 (40 hours total) which satisfies education requirement for exam
• Cost for 2006 is $695 for members, $875 for non-members
